Marmomacchine Pellegrini is a
Division of Pellegrini Meccanica S.P.A. headquartered in
Verona, Italy and is the leading manufacturer of processing machinery
for rough-surfacing marble, granite, natural and artificial stone
products and concrete items, such as:

So why
consider an alternative surface to polished material? Polished stone
is very nice to look at, BUT the stone must be very good, and
polishing is expensive. So MarmoMacchine Pellegrini developed a series
of machines for an alternative: ROUGH FINISHING. The equipment
recreates at low cost the traditional rough finishes used for outdoor
flooring and similar applications where a polish is inappropriate.

 |
The areas
where these finished are used include:
-
Outdoor paving
-
Vertical wall facings where a variety of finishes is needed to
offer differing feel and texture
-
Urban stones such as bollards, kerbs, parapets
-
Recovery of stones that cannot be used for polishing.
-
Bush-hammering. This reflects the traditional hammer treatment of
stone, dating from Roman times if not before. Used for almost all
stones.
-
Flaming. Used with high quartz granites, and with some types of
sedimentary stones. Can be a very fast and economic operation.
-
Sand-blasting. Used with all stones when a very fine grade finish is
needed. Can be used with masks to create patterns. The similar
Shot-blasting technology uses hard steel grit in dedicated machines
and offers very fast production.
-
High
pressure water. The MMP system is called Waterstorm-Master. Here the
roughening effect is obtained by the use of mechanical energy
carried by a high pressure water jet. This system can process almost
all stones, and give a wide range of finishes. Can be used with thin
stones, and there is no damage to the internal stone structure.
